Wishy-washy?, 10 Aug 2008

I don't know how people couldn't like "Last This Day" & think it wishy-washy. Anyone who has ever had a premature baby or lost a baby, this song speaks directly to you, full of the desperate quiet heartbreak of a parent just wanting their child to live, just last this day. Powerful, powerful stuff. Faithless isn't all about the bangin' choonz, y'know - there are songs of gentle wisdom, stuff that speaks to the heart, among the anthems.

Don't pay any attention to these other reviews. It's a music CD not a political manifesto for a country's financial development!! Half these 'reviewers' who want to appear the intelligentsia of music can't even spell or punctuate! Some intelligence eh?

It's a good music CD to play in the background. Nice rhythms and harmony changes.

Makes my toe tap and my spirit relax.

Thanks Faithless. Good music.

A real let down..., 9 Dec 2006

I agree with other reviews elsewhere and, after listening to this several times, I actually returned it, and thats never happened before with a Faithless album. I have followed them from the beginning, eagerly awaiting each new release, same thing here, but I was gutted. Without trying to sound too much like the anti-christ, I can cope with several songs about babies...but nearly every track? no, it's too much. The whole album sounds like having a Children in need TV special rammed down your throat. Surely this is not what Faithless are about? ok, maybe it is now. If that's the case then they should have split up as originally planned if this is the best they can do.

The over-reliance on Dido is another factor and her track is absolutely horrendous. Elsewhere only "Music Matters" sounds like the Faithless of old however, as usual, even this ends before it has a chance to really get going. Faithless have lost track of what made them so special, and popular.

Maybe next time? we'll see. With "No Roots" Faithless tested my patience, with "To All New Arrivals" it has snapped and i've lost interest.

Just a thought: They should bring back Jamie and Zoe Johnston and dump the "chill-out" feel to their most recent work, the market is already flooded with these types of albums, usually ending up in the bargain bins. In 3 months time, "To All New Arrivals" will also be there.

A great book of useful sales tips. This is a great reference book for quick sales solutions. I think Sandler Sales Institute also has another book which I read last year. These non-traditional sales strategies really hit the mark.

I bought both the recipe book and the original book in paperback recently and then decided to get this too - this is a much better laid out book with lots of pictures to look at and in a much easier pick up and look at format (I just find it far easier and more interesting to navigate).

Really inspired me much more than the paperback.

At last - a plan that works, 4 Nov 2011

Read the book on Kindle first, then took a hard copy on holiday to begin planning my food future.

It's easy to read, and to follow, and the hints and tips really make a difference. Coming to the end of my third week now having followed the plan EXACTLY - and have lost 9lbs in weight, and my shape has changed - I can really see the difference.

I am NEVER hungry, or expereince cravings - it's as though a switch has been flicked and I'm finally seeing food in a different light. Life is beginnning to get good !!!

If you want to shed the weight for the LAST time, get reading.

You have to watch Best Buy they are notorious for reselling “returned” goods. I had to return something that I found out had been a return. That cured me of them. Just because something is still shrink wrapped does not mean it has not been opened.

no if it is refurbished they are required to tell you. and the only “optimizing ” I have seen them do is run a program called decrapifyer. to take out all the addware the companies put in them when new

"Everything is Negotiable" by Gavin Kennedy falls under the category of non-IT books that I occasionally pick up (and do not regret). The guy runs a company in UK which helps break deals and negotiate for you, apart from training your people to do better at deals.

The books starts off with a simple question:

1. Faced with a difficult opponent, it is better to concede something of little value in order to create goodwill. True or False?

Many people will tend to concede. That something is of little value to you, right? and the opponent is somebody overly demanding as well! Gavin Kennedy tends to disagree and he has sound reasons for that:

1. Goodwill is a myth! Business is about offering what you have in exchange for what you want. Why is the other person bargaining for that something of little value?

2. You are encouraging the behavior of your difficult opponent by conceding in the first deal. He/ she will become more and more unrealistic in future. On the other hand, you will have little ground to behave differently.

This remarkable opening is followed by around 24 chapters, which include various negotiating scenarios (not all of them provide insight, though). Reading the negative reviews, I agree that the size of the book (around 350 pages) could be reduced to at least 3 quarters without any loss of content. But the book has been quite informative for me.

Has saved/made me £££Thousands, 14 Mar 2008

I first bought an earlier verion of this book when I was 21. I am now 40. I highly recommend it to any novice negotiator or if trying to get a deal makes you uncomfortable.

I work in property and have been negotiating almost every working day. This book has helped my career. Next Monday I am going to try & negotiate to buy a house for my family. I decided to re-read the book again to ensure my skills are fresh. I am not sure as a working class boy from a scheme, I'd have ever got myself in a position to buy a house valued at more than £0.5m, without applying the lessons I learned from the book.

It is a basic book and it is not perfect. The third version which I have is a bit flabby & the use of the (now) four types of negotiator is less useful than early verions.

Nevertheless - buy it unless you are already very competent at getting a good deal. I bet your investment in time & the cash value of the book will pay for itself a hundred times over. I know it has for me more than a thousand times.
